When designing spaces meant for communal use, we integrate experience flows and functional flows throughout the different elements. These flows play a crucial role in determining the overall spatial relationships. Through the integration of spatial aspects such as access, views, and natural elements into the flows, we create a practical framework that can be enhanced using a variety of materials and methods of execution.
MR, founded by NOMA's Mads Refslund, was the first Danish fish-focused restaurant to win a Michelin star. Monitz Architects' design aimed to heighten the sensory experience of seafood and flowers while celebrating nature's harmony. The walls featured 3D-printed flowers, illuminated by adjustable lighting, inspired by Japanese shadow play. Guests enjoyed a four-hour dinner with underwater music made from fish mating and water recordings. This artistic and culinary fusion created a unique and innovative dining experience.

“The exploration of the duality between containment and escape in an open sea was a fascinating concept that we delved into. Our investigation centered around themes of containment, diffusion, and openness. Moreover, we took inspiration from the distinctive leopard pattern to design a captivating heartbeat bar and incorporate elements of parametric design."
