Made to last 100 Years or longer

At Monitz, we believe the buildings in your community should be built to last. After all, with COP 27 just behind us we know politicians and their promises may come and go but if we build to last we can have a huge impact forever. This principle applies to all built envoirment, it should be designed to be more durable and hard-wired to be updated and maintined, repaired or taken back for resale or reuse at the end of their first few lives. We also acknowledge that some things are not meant to last, so we celebrate those homes that are designed to be easily and safely recycled or composted.

Monika Möllnitz, the founder of Monitz (MOMO), is known for her sustainable and innovative approach to architecture and design. To build homes that last 100 years or longer, some of her principles include:

  1. Durability: using materials that are long-lasting and able to withstand wear and tear over time.

  2. Flexibility: designing homes that can adapt to changing needs and lifestyles over the years.

  3. Energy efficiency: incorporating green technologies to reduce energy consumption and improve the home's overall sustainability.

  4. Climate-responsive design: taking into account the local climate and designing the home to optimize indoor comfort and minimize energy usage.

  5. Functionality: ensuring the home is functional and efficient in its use of space.

  6. Healthy: Its built to make you feel and be healthy, you will take better care of your home and it will take better care of you.

In summary, to build homes that last 100 years or longer, Monika advocates for durable, flexible, energy-efficient, climate-responsive, and functional and healthy design.
